Artjoker Team at the Google Chrome Built-in AI Challenge Hackathon

The Artjoker team took part in the Google Chrome Built-in AI Challenge hackathon, and this experience became a significant milestone in our development. We had the opportunity to test our skills, gain new knowledge, and create a project with real practical value. In this article, we want to share how everything unfolded, the challenges we faced, and the lessons we learned.

Preparing for the Start

The decision to participate in the hackathon was spontaneous but an incredibly exciting challenge. Preparation began with a brainstorming session where we defined our goals, assigned roles, and devised a strategy. Tasks were distributed to make the most of each team member's time and expertise. Although it was our first online hackathon, we quickly organized ourselves and started working on ideas.

How Did the Hackathon Go?

The hackathon was fast-paced and required maximum focus. The format encouraged idea-sharing and on-the-spot decision-making. We worked on developing a browser extension powered by artificial intelligence. The tasks were both engaging and challenging, adding a special drive to the project. Everyone was motivated by the knowledge that we were working on something genuinely useful and innovative.

Main Challenges

One of the biggest challenges was, of course, time constraints. We worked overtime to complete all the stages. Integration with the Google API proved to be another significant hurdle, but thanks to coordinated teamwork and constant communication, we successfully overcame all difficulties. Team cohesion was key to solving problems and achieving our goals.

What Did We Gain from Participating?

The hackathon was a great opportunity to level up our skills. We gained experience in creating AI-powered browser extensions, improved our ability to work as a team, and learned to plan our time effectively. This experience also helped us become more adaptable to changes and respond quickly to challenges.

What Would We Improve with One More Day?

If we had one more day, we would have added a few exciting features, such as integration with the Google search bar, improving the prompt system to support multiple languages, and creating a contextual menu with query auto-replacement. However, even within the limited timeframe, we managed to implement a solid foundation that can be enhanced in the future.
